SENSE 2 is suited to handle biometric applications better and stronger than any of its competitors. With an optional Lumidigm Multispectral Fingerprint sensor on-board, SENSE 2 can be equipped to handle outdoor environments with challenging levels of dust, dirt, sand, wind, rain and more. This sensor is well suited to user populations with potentially challenging fingerprints to read. And, SENSE 2 boasts a large biometric record capacity and 1 GHz processing power to fulfill a broad range of installation requirements.
The Lumidigm Multispectral Fingerprint Sensor from HID is Invixium’s recommended sensor for outdoor or challenging environments prone to difficult conditions from dust, sand, dirt, water and more. This sensor makes use of multispectral imaging to read fingerprints deep into the epidermis, granting the ability to authenticate individuals with challenging fingerprints due to environmental or genetic factors.
Though SENSE 2 is a rugged biometric reader at heart, some businesses want the added security of cards as a second layer of authentication. Pairing card credentials with fingerprint greatly reduces the risk of a stolen or borrowed card to be used for access control or time tracking, because the user will be forced to verify that they are who they say they are using biometrics. Further, when biometrics aren’t feasible for all users, for any reason, cards can act as a backup credential.
Invixium has committed to the most rugged construction ever for SENSE 2, from its aluminum backplate to dissipate internally generated heat, to its multispectral fingerprint sensor and high ingress and impact protection ratings. SENSE 2 is certified with both IK08 and IP65 to protect against the effects of water and impact, but Invixium still recommends an overhand for outdoor installs.
One cable (CAT5/6) for power and communication makes installation fast and easy while also lowering installation costs and maintenance requirements.
Through IXM Link, SENSE 2 integrates with industry-leading access control software including OnGuard by LenelS2, Honeywell Pro-Watch and others.
SENSE 2 is protected by IP65 ingress protection and IK08 impact protection. Though these ratings mean that the product can be used outdoors, Invixium recommends an overhang for harsh environments.
SENSE 2 is built with a presence detector that “wakes up” the device when a person is in view. Much like automatic, motion-detection lights, this sensor allows the device to go into standby mode when no person is detected to save energy.
SENSE 2 has a built-in anti-shock vandal protection (ASVP) system that triggers an alarm if an attempt is made to remove the device from its installed location as an extra layer of security.
